Hello, I am Kathryn Stephens

I have been doing graphic design since 2017. When I am not staring at my screen designing the next big work, I indulge myself in other hobbies that keep the creative flowing and that just keep me content in this busy life.
When I was sixteen years old, I acquired a job at a small and local quilt shop "Sew Whats New and Yarn too" and with little sewing experience. It was there each one of ladies working there took me under their wing in different ways. I wanted to know it all. One person was teaching me sewing basics, then small projects which soon evolved to bigger projects such as quilting and couture sewing. Another person teaching me machine embroidery and serging machines. Then I walked into the world crochet and knitting.

Soon, I was the one doing the teaching to young kids in our sewing classes. You can never learn enough in this hobby. The possibly is truly endless with all the patterns, textures, fabrics, yarns, and material. Its an old school art that I am honored to be apart of.
In my time at Suffolk Community College and Farmingdale State College great professors helped me own my skill and take it to the next level. College drawing classes during the pandemic helped me slow down and really take my time drawing. Learning different techniques of how to render a figure was something I ended up finding really interesting.

When I take time away from the screen, I really enjoy indulging myself in the
world of drawing. Taking time to render figures and study the lights and darks keeps my mind sharp. I always enjoyed drawing and mixed media work.
I am a very proud owner of two amazing guinea pigs, Cookie and Peanut

Cookie is the white and brown guinea pig. While scrolling on Facebook one afternoon, a lovely person was giving him away and I quickly scooped him up. Cookie went from timid and scared to an outgoing, sweet, and a spoiled king ever since!

Peanut is the dark brown guinea pig and came from a very different background. Peanut was found in a box with a few of his brothers on the side of the road and was rescued. A few months later he came into my life. As time went on, Peanuts true personality came out and he has become a mischievous and goofy little guy. Everyday I want to protect him and give him the best life he deserves.

It is amazing what love and patience can do. Even though they are small animals, they have big personality. They keep me busy, keep me laughing and one big thing that keeps me smiling.
