See the thoughts, thinking, and process behind two of my projects

This is Handback

Handback was my senior thesis project for my bachelor degree at Farmingdale State College. This project was in development for over a year and was showcased in December 2022 at Farmingdale State College Memorial Art Gallery.

Lets jump into the process of how this service was created from scratch
Handback required about six months worth of research in beginning development. We needed to make sure to see the idea from beginning to end from partnerships, revenue, target demographic, advertisement channels, company values, and real life investment cost were accounted for and understood.
This also lead to the first drafts of personas for Handback, it was important to pin point the correct demographic for this idea.

Where Does The Name Handback Come From?

Short answer: Working at the speed of thought.
I sat down and rapid fired forty different names with some better then others. Whatever word combinations came to my mind I would put down the page. I kept my overall idea and goal in my mind as i came up with these words. It was important to keep these words relevant and catchy for the final product. From the list of forty names, I broke down that list to fifteen that had potential and then picked my top three. From that list of three, I happily ended up picking Handback.
With the name picked out, we had to create the most important part of the branding, which is the logo. This was another part that required thinking at the speed of thought. I sketched fifty different logo variations playing with typography, abstract and literal logo design. It is interesting that Handbacks current logo was not in this orignal list and was developed later.
It was then time to digitalize a few of the logos in gray scale. After perfecting the gray scale, I chose a logo i was content with and added branding colors to it. Next was adding in the typography of the logo and finding the perfect font that went with Handback. Over time the logo evolved and changed to what is the 2023 Handback logo.
During the development in Handback, I had to present and pitch my idea to my fellow colleagues and guests that came in to hear our ideas for the 2022 senior thesis expo. My idea, branding, and logo evolved heavily overtime for these presentations.
Above is a concept sketch of the main Handback products, It was in this stage that i figured out the content on the products, the mesurments, and potential placement.
It was time to digitalize the products that where going to be printed for the showcase of Handback. Handback offers two main products of a large box and small box depending on what size the user needs. 3D models of the boxes where created to visually understand the box dimensions for when printed
Above is a low fidelity of Handback website, at this point everything is pencil sketches and it was in this stage I had five usability sessions where i sat down with someone and had them guide me through my layout with these papers. it was in this staged where I added or removed different pages, buttons and interactions to make my website as user friendly as it could be.
Once I finalized the layout, interactivity, and user experience it was time to move on to the medium fidelity version of the Handback Website. At this stage we digitalized our products in grayscale. We work in a little bit of our branding and plan out our website flow. There is a lot of change in this stage.

Advertisment of Handback

Above are three examples of Handback advertisments across different medias with the sketch idea. The Instagram ad was a humors eye catching ad to promote simply what handback is. The bill board is a striking visusal with a simple tagline to over exaggerate the problem and habit that people say they do, which is hold on the medication. Lastly we have a PSA adverisment for Facebook showing a 3D render of a pill and inside a murky water with dead wish to show that pills in water leads to toxic water.
Handback needed lots of merch to help promote the brand and what Handback stands for. It was important to choose merch that is relevant to the brand. Items such as touchless door openers, masks, and landyards could be used by medical professionals. T-Shirts, pins, mugs and balloons are great promotional items.
